I want to start by saying that we’re so incredibly grateful for all the support and enthusiasm about Ghosts. We had no idea what to expect, and we’ve never had a release go this well on day one, so we’re extremely moved by the response. We’re especially grateful for your willingness to place a pre-order (for Ghosts, Ribbons, and/or Sparks) and wait a bit to receive your unit. This year has been pretty challenging for a variety of reasons and your support helps immensely. So … thank you!
BATCH 2 — Orders placed on or after October 15th are in Batch 2
These are units that we have parts for, but they aren’t built up yet so the lead time is a bit longer (probably ~8 weeks until we start shipping them).
BATCH 1 — All orders placed on October 13th and 14th are in Batch 1
We plan to start shipping Batch 1 units in order received in 4-5 weeks.
What happens after Batch 2 sells out?
We don’t have a specific ETA for more Ghosts beyond Batch 2 quite yet. Kinotone is a small team and with Sparks and Ribbons also in production right now, we want to make sure we’re managing our workload carefully. That said, the response to Ghosts has been very encouraging and we will definitely make more of them. I’m hopeful that we can do another batch early next year once we’re feeling caught up. As always the forum is the best way to keep in touch.
Thank you again and let us know if you have questions!
Quite frustrating. I didn’t see an email/notification that batch 2 was open. Checked in near lunch then right after work just in case. Did I miss it somewhere? Is it me?! TAKE MY MONEY
I was looking for very unusual sounds with my guitar to make the music which is in my head, but synth pedals never interested me… But few days ago, I discovered the PW. I was thinking about getting it, but did not. And then comes the Ghosts! Thanks to my youtube algorithm.
I never felt so excited about a gear.
As a former classical and acoustic guitarist, I came (back) to electric guitar to open the possibilities in terms of sound, and it’s on the way. But I always missed something related to the resonance.
I thinks Kinotone has just filled the gap.
I refreshed the page like a thousand times from 7 am until the moment it went up I even ordered mine before the email was sent, I can’t describe how happy I am right now
Thanks Jaak! I appreciate it. Very odd. I never changed those and have always received emails in the past. Oh well. Hopefully ill grab a later batch of Ghost.
I just purchased my first kinotone: ribbons!
That said, I was traveling all yesterday, and likely would want to space out important decisions like this over the course of separate months (and paychecks)
So to think I got on here to begin participating on the boards and to find out that I missed yet another drop!?! These must be going to superfans!
I thought i set up my announcements correctly, but it’s also possible that they are just selling in a flash
Will you announce if there’s folks dropping out of cue or if there’s a b-stock sale?
I also missed Batch 2, but I also just found out about Kinotone pedals. Ghosts is the pedal I have been dreaming about for what seems like forever. Keeping fingers crossed for an opening in Batch 3. Physically modeling the resonance of a marimba? You had me at “resonance”!
Hi
I am also a classical guitarist who plays electric and acoustic. Try playing classical guitar with some of these pedals— like Ghosts or the Microcosm. It can sound awesome. You need a pickup in your guitar of course.
What is the PW you are referring to?
Distortion and fuzz don’t sound great on classical imo but a lot of the more textural pedals sound awesome.
Apologies for the delay with the manual. We hit a rough patch and our timeline slipped a bit (our elderly cat’s cancer is worsening and we have to say goodbye in the next day or two here).
All the words in the manual are there but it reads like an enthusiastic wall of text, so we’re just working on some visuals to make everything easier to follow.
