They potentially haven’t locked down the v1 firmware yet, hence me asking before they lock it down.

All this excitement and speculation and now we wait… 
I saw some spoiler about the pedal, but i don’t want to ruin the announcement fun for @jaakjensen and his team.
It’s not clear if Kinotone wants people to keep the info gleaned from Knobcon a secret or not. I shared some info on another message board and did wonder if I was spoiling something, but I ultimately landed on “building hype for the upcoming releases is a good thing” – hopefully the Kinotone team agrees! Can’t wait to learn more about this stuff.

Yeah, I really feel like there was little to no community hype payoff unless you were at Knobcon. We were told forum would know first, or I guess I misunderstood that. Give us a peek guys, where’s the love?
Kind of a strange move to keep it all completely private when you have a dedicated forum for access to your audience. Some guys (like me) will budget out our next purchases and this thing is still a mysterious concept. Tons of cool stuff at Knobcon we can preorder now, except this pedal.
As customers… If we’re here, in this forum, we are the tip of the spear to advocate for a different product outcome than what happened with the first (only) Sparks batch. Give us some bullet points or something. Certainly many of us are waiting to relay the amazing new box to our friends. I am.

Hey all - thanks for the excitement (and the nudge!) I hear you.
Our plan initially was to announce the new pedal right before Knobcon and open orders then. It didn’t quite shake out that way, but we still wanted to bring it along and gather feedback - which was really positive!
We were prepared for the possibility that someone might film the pedal in action, but that didn’t happen, and on the other end of the event we don’t feel a need to rush out bullet points or a comprehensive “reveal” of what it is. We’re super close but still working on things - firmware, documentation, demos, etc.
A couple clarifications:
It’s totally fine for people to share their impressions from Knobcon. We’re not asking anyone to keep secrets - just keep in mind that we didn’t showcase everything there and small details may evolve before release.
This forum is the first place for official news from us once something is available to order. Instead of posting on social media: “new pedal dropping XYZ date at 10:00 am”, we’ll announce it here (which sends out emails) and give forum users a nice early shopping window complete with full specs, demos, and a webstore link so you can be the first in line.
Thanks for bearing with us a little longer. I’m really proud of this one, and hope you’ll see why we’re taking some time and care to wrap things up. I appreciate your patience and interest in the things we’re making!

Because you started your message with “Yeah” as if you were agreeing with me, I feel the need to clarify that my message carries a different tone/sentiment than yours. I don’t think the two-person Kinotone team owes anyone on this forum anything, and demoing their new gear at an event before announcing it is not abnormal at all.
I was expressing that I hope I didn’t irk them by sharing what I know in another message board.

That’s cool Doug. I am going off of Carl on staff using the verbiage in this thread, “…the forum will be the first to know” which was directed at the launch I guess, and not info on the new pedal. My bad Doug (and Carl).
The owners will do what they like and I’ll still be here waiting, patiently.
To be fair though, you’ll notice other people are quite interested. None of Kinotone’s Instagram previews were shared to the forum. Hence me creating this thread. This is now the 2nd biggest post ever in the, “Pedals” forum category. The biggest is… “Sparks Availability?” due to the launch not including influencers and really barely selling out over time. It is a masterpiece and should have sold tons more. I think we’d all like to see these guys avoid that challenge in this new launch.
Kinotone RULES! They could be the next Chase Bliss.

All good! You’ve been very kind and supportive of our work and it’s clear that you just want us to succeed, so thank you for that.
For better or worse, we probably won’t have influencers in on this next launch either (but rather later on for a restock). The launch demos will be made in house. Jaak is usually tweaking things in firmware right up until the first units ship, so it’s been a challenge for us to partner with content creators as we don’t want others showcasing pre-production firmware.
That’s ok though! As long as we can move a couple hundred units to start, awareness can grow organically. I think it’s nice and in some ways refreshing that interest in our devices has been slow and sustained.
It’s easy to post a clip on Instagram but takes more effort to be thoughtful and share meaningful updates here. We used to do seasonal blog posts but have been grinding for so long now we just haven’t made time. I think that’s lacking lately, and sorry the forum hasn’t been very exciting, but we’re glad that you made this thread.
That’s very nice of you to say. Though we have no desire to be the next Chase bliss.

I agree sparks is really a masterpiece, why i am stooked of the announcement or news about a new incoming pedal.
Thansk for the different clarification, very nice to have such insight on your process. I was wondering, will the next pedal and synth be launched as your previous gear iteration, with a set stock for sale until ran out, then a wait period until a new batch is ready?
I would say, youtuber Jorb deserve a spot for the new pedal and new synth, his in depth demo of the sparks was brilliant!. I cant count how many times i watched that demo and still does for inspiration

For the launch of the next pedal wait times should be fairly short, since we funded this batch ourselves and they are already built up. The wait will mostly be finalizing documentation and creating the printed manual.
Sometimes we’ve done longer pre-orders where people’s orders fund the production, so we are starting from the beginning ordering parts, boards, getting boards assembled, ordering enclosures, etc and then building everything up. I’m not sure yet what the approach will be for the keyboard.

How unreal is this news!!! I mean, honestly! I love my one kinnotone pedal and just want to add another to my rebuild of a rig along with this new one, bc whatever it will end up being, I know it will be essential to a piece of my rig that I am lacking at the moment. And knowing that we will be able to get in on a pre order, damn! Just know I wear my t shirt proudly here in 
tho my fiancé really wishes it was hers. Hopefully I can make that one happen this next time around lol. Ty for everything
My dog Baxter was never supposed to reach a weight of ten pounds (he was supposed to be 9lbs, max)
What does fairly short means, that i dont have to refresh screen and look for updates at least 2 times a day for a week or?, because right now i cant wait to get the preorder announcement!
