Why not? Since we don’t know what it is and only saw the teaser shared to Instagram it’s fair play no? If you don’t know, a new pedal is being unveiled soon. Let’s do some community forecasting!
What do you think the new (3rd) Kinotone pedal will be?
For some reasons I’m convinced there will be some kind of delay capacity, most probably among other functionalities. Very excited to know more about the internal synth as well but here I can’t make any guess though.
I badly need an end of chain stereo preamp/eq unit with great tweakability nobody does that, the boss eq200 doesnt have headtoom and the source audio is a hassle to tweak
boss Eq200 & Golden Master are both digital. I use Free The Tone Eq as an analog final programmable EQ & Level control and it works flawlessly since several years. PA-1Q SERIES|PRODUCTS|Free The Tone
Hi!
I unf. need stereo. The eq200 does not have enough headroom for end of chain after iridium. I saw the enieqma eq which is stellar and it has a limiter which would be great, but 500 bucks for an eq? And then it only has 3 knobs so menue divin included
For ambient gigs, and general recording, I run the iridium plus ribbons, mood, microcosm etc into an audio interface connected to an ipad. From there I process the multiple inputs in Loopy Pro. Can use fabfilter plugs and they are really cheap for iOS. Can also control ribbons and all the other pedals with a custom made touch interface in loopy pro. Yes, I love that app.
I knew it was some kind of filter/synth sort of pedal (my certainty is based on IG hints, but I could still be wrong)! If the pedal is both instrument and effect, then I imagined a complex system of filters that would act like resonant pipes that are then synthesized further—similar to one of the effects in CBA’s new Lost and Found.
I do something similar with Fairfield’s Long Life while turning up the resonance to oscillation, then playing through it as an oscillating filter. I’m probably reading too far into my own dreams, but i’m guessing there is an oscillator that interacts with the input instrument’s frequencies.
Based on insta last night, it seems to have something to do with physical modeling, possibly via waveguide synthesis?
It’s worthy of note that Kinotone’s first two pedals contain an fx unit and a synthesizer so knowing what one of those is doesn’t tell you what both of them are (assuming the pattern holds).
it has to be delay oriented too no? the papers were all pass filters (used in some reverb applications) and literally “delay lines …in a feedback loop”
i’m not technically proficient in circuit design at all but maybe it’s going to combine delay tech to create/simulate resonators that are string like? maybe like a cousin to prismatic wall from eae?
I no longer have IG and never had an account with any other social media, so I haven’t seen anything that hasn’t been posted on this forum. Based on comments from @nathanmachine, all pass filters with delay lines can make reverby stuff possible and can also be used for more standard phaser effects. Depending on the implementation, I would imagine there are a lot of interesting possibilities with just all pass filters and delay lines. Would love to see more of the teaser campaign but can’t bring myself to get on the socials.
Unfortunately they all were stories which are temporary. One was a teasing picture of the pedal from the side so you would not see the top fully along with a pic of a tiny portion of the synth (same type of keyboard as the Microfreak). Latest teasing campain were pictures of pages with notes and academic papers around filters and stuff!
