Orders will ship in the order they were received. We will create production and shipping status update threads on the forum once we get closer so people can see how things are moving along and what order numbers are going out the door.
For Ghosts — we plan to start shipping in 4-5 weeks. We have a big batch all built up and ready to go, but we’re taking some time to polish the final firmware release and create + print the paper manual that ships with units.
For Ribbons — we plan to start shipping in 8-10 weeks. Pre-orders help us to manage demand and order all of the parts we need in the right quantities. The Ribbons build process is very streamlined and should be smooth sailing once we have boards and enclosures in-house.
For Sparks — we plan to start shipping in 8-12 weeks. As with Ribbons, pre-orders help us to know how many of these to make. Sparks is an analog device which is more time consuming for us to manufacture and test, so we’re giving ourselves a bit of extra breathing room on the timeline.
What if I order multiple pedals?
If you order multiple pedals (for example a Ghosts and a Ribbons), by default your order will ship when the last pedal is ready.
However, if you would like us to ship them when they become available we are happy to and won’t charge you extra for shipping - just shoot us an email at support@kinotoneaudio.com
As always, thank you for supporting our work! Feel free to drop any questions below.
I just ordered a Sparks after waiting 12+ months. It’ll be my first Kinotone pedal. If I like it I’ll be waiting for a Ghost. Hopefully not another 12+ months, lol
Amazing, this looks and sounds like a work of true genius, microtuning! Ordered, I’m digging out my non-western tuned Dambatsoko mbira and already have about ten ideas for how to incorporate this pedal in improvised live set ups. Brilliant work.
Just randomly navigated to the forum to make a feature request and realized this was released 23 minutes ago. What an awesome surprise! Looks sick. Will seek in future…
waiting for the manual : ) ! want to know more about parameters that can be midi controlled, and it’s unclear to me how many available modes there are and how deep can we tweak the resonators parameters ; ) but huge congrats, that’s the thing we need in the evolution of pedal world !!
Wow! Congratulations on another incredibly creative and useful pedal. Great intro video too (loved the Japan quote on the vocal demo). Glad I waited for this, rather than diving on the Lost+Found (no shade, I love CBA, I just have a very limited budget).
Allow me to be the 13th to say, “holy fucking shit.” This far surpasses anything I imagined: I’ve been wanting some form of contact mic pedal to exist for a long time, and now you come along and say “hey, what if everything was a pipe organ?” Brilliant.
I don’t think I’ve seen anything like this before? This is nuts.
How long is pre-ordering open? Is it limited?
Sorry in advance if this is a dumb question–but can you just plug a microphone straight into this (like the part at the end of the demo video)? Or do you need a separate pre-amp or something?
I ordered one; not sure yet how I’ll use it yet on guitar, but have been thinking of getting a midi keyboard or sequencer soon.
What is the controller in the first sequence after guitar? Something you might be working on? Looks cool and useful.
Incredible! Congrats on another phenomenal design. I am so excited to try this thing all over the studio. Do you happen to know of (or have any plans to create) a way to use an external contact mic in place of the integrated contact mic?
I recognize that I could plug one of mine in for audio, but it seems that this mic is at an interesting junction in the signal flow, and being used as both a controller and an audio source. I have been doing a lot of contact mic field recording that could be very fun to experiment with on Ghosts.
Thanks and congrats again! Really looking forward to Ghosts! And I mean, what a great time of year to launch a spooky lil box
