If I wanted to depart from reel-to-reel or cassette behaviour, and emulate worn or bootlegged VHS or betamax, how might I dial that in?
Has the kinotone team incorporated this standard of magnetic tape? Are the distinctions and associations I’m making only psychoacoustic, or were there mechanical difference?
VHS used a spinning head drum, for example. Would that impact the WOW and other mechanics? And the tape was wider: would that create more high fidelity?
Do you think it would be worthwhile to add a hidden option for LOFI/HIFI across an entire preset? Just as the UNREAL Player touch mode has the option to “degauss” the blur, so to speak, are there other places where this application could be the desired sound or the expected performance on the pedal?
I remember when Chase Bliss released an update for their Mood MKii, effectively giving folks the option to downgrade it to the sounds they were capable of in the mono version of the pedal
