I get a big volume drop when using disintegration loop when I complete the recording and it starts looping. The loop is much quieter than my guitar signal. What could be causing that?
- Select init patch
- Select disintegration loop
- Tap touch and record loop
- Tap touch again to end recording and begin looping.
Result: loop is much quieter than guitar signal.
Iām not sure which version / firmware youāre running but if you load Init and then jump to disintegration loop, the T2 setting (loop speed) might be set near noon, which means the loop is running at a really lofi or slow speed. Around noon, the tape is running so slow it is basically stopped and you might hear a volume drop. This is by design - when the tape passes through zero speed, the read and write heads switch places and the volume fades so you donāt hear a click or pop sound.
In earlier versions of the manual, we suggested āloading init before trying out disintegration loopā - this is to clear out all the settings and give you a clean loop that is unaltered by the tape effects. One caveat to this is that the Init preset has T1 / T2 settings dialed in for a different Touch Mode (Tape Stop), which happen to put the Disintegration Loop T2 setting in a less ideal position for recording.
I would try setting T1 to around 50%, and get T2 away from noon before recording.

That was it. Thank you so much!
I am going to try this on mine and see if that fixes the issue. Itās just that because each āpageā has itās own setting, every time you flick through them, it feels that the loop you have gets too radically altered volume wise.
