Hello! I’m looking into buying a Ribbons the next time they’re dropped, but have a question about the HP/LP functionality. If both filters are completely open and aren’t filtering out any audio, can you still use/hear wow/flutter/other effects?
I’m curious because I recently tried out a Cooper FX Gen Loss V2 and found that the HP/LP knobs on that pedal completely eliminated wow/flutter at certain settings. Hoping this isn’t the case with Ribbons!
Thanks in advance.
Yes you can. The wow and flutter are independent of the HP/LP filters. In fact, the HP is independent of the LP and the wow is independent of the flutter. All the parameters are independent of each other!

@TheTimberOwls great news, thank you!
Well, yes and no)
HP and LP knobs work independently of each other, however, since their frequency ranges fully overlap, you can make a setting that could effectively cut all or almost all sound.
And in some circumstances, you can dial the filter, leaving such a narrow band, that wow and flutter effects may become almost unaudible.
@SV_huMMer thank you! I assume that if the filters are fully open and not cutting and frequency, though, all the wow/flutter you have dialed in will remain audible?
Yes, totally. Of course, if your dry/wet mix control is set properly as well. Sometimes on a pedal like Ribbons, with multi-layer control system, it’s easy to forget what you set on other pages. That’s the tradeoff we need to accept for the compact size vs an absolutely gargantuan number of features Ribbons offers.
