Ribbons/Ghosts question/feature request: inverse EXP mapping + Exp range

Dear Kinotone team!

Am I correct to assume that at present there’s no option to map a knob to the expression pedal in the inverted direction? So that moving the threadle from heel down to toe down would decrease the parameter, and moving it backwards, from toe down to heel down, would increase the parameter?

It would be absolutely awesome for me, to be able to sweep the expression pedal, increasing one thing, while decreasing another. But so far I could not find the way to do it, and reading the manual(s), it does not seem to be possible. I know I can do such things via proper MIDI programming, but sometimes analog expression is preferred.

Another thought I had while exploring this incredible duo (Ghosts + RIbbons) was it would be nice if we could map knobs to expression with the ability to set the heel down value and the toe down value for the mapped knob.

I know you have the feature of the knob setting the “midpoint”, but it’s different and does not seem to achieve the same result.

If there’s such option, it would automatically also provide users with the “inverse” possibility, because all you need to do is set the heel down “limit” higher than the tow down limit.

I don’t own a Ribbons yet, but this is exactly the kind of thing that would push me to buy one.

Did you ever find a way to make this work?

I can do it via the advanced MIDI programming of an expression pedal connected to MIDI controller.

The advantage is I can do literally whatever I want via MIDI commands, as technically I am not mapping commands to expression pedal.

The disadvantage is that a big stream of fast changing MIDI commands may not be so smooth, sometimes it may result in a somewhat jerky response. It works not so good for pitch-critical stuff, because it may skip some steps.

But at least it’s a workaround.
