I think my Ribbons might be cooked (all LEDs light blue, not responding)

I was re-ordering my pedals in my DAW fx loop and during the course of that my power supply (a 1-Spot) seems to have gone bad which caused spooky noises and bad boot cycles for a lot of pedals.

I swapped out the bad power supply for one that is working properly, and the rest of my pedals are now back to normal, but my Ribbons is possibly cooked 😬. When I apply power to it, all the LEDs are light blue, and the pedal isn’t responding to any button presses (and sound is not passing through).

Anyone encounter this?

(I also sent a message to the support email, apologies about the duplicate but I figured if it gets resolved it would be good to have the resolution here).

Hey - sorry you ran into that! I can’t say I’ve ever heard of this happening before. We have a decent amount of power supply protection circuitry in Ribbons (reverse polarity protection, under/overvoltage protection, fuses, noise protection, etc.) so I’m surprised to hear about a bad power supply damaging it.

We did get your email to support so I’ll reply there with a couple things to troubleshoot. If it needs to be serviced we’ll cover the shipping costs (I think you’re in the US) and fix or replace it for free.

Talk soon.

Dang Jaak! That was quick! I no longer fear I’ll be in trouble if I have any problems. The ribbons fills a hole in my heart. I salute you sir! And the team of course!

We list an official warranty policy on our site to protect the business from rare but potentially disruptive situations. That said, in the very few cases where a pedal has failed (even well outside the warranty period or due to user-related damage) we’ve repaired or replaced it at no cost.

We believe that hardware should come with the promise of longevity. If something fails, I genuinely want to understand why, so we can improve and prevent it from happening again.
