I recently got a 2nd Ribbons and just updated my 2023 version the other night.
Love this pedal.
I use the disintegration loop a lot and I use the pitch / speed function like they way I use my tascam 4 track machines. I’ll record something at one key and slow it down to a lower key. I love this about tape but its always hard to get it to pitch properly so that I can record other instruments on top of the new key and it takes some trial and error.
Would it be possible to add an option for speed / pitch chromatic stepping feature instead of it being continuous?
Also, I know i’ve asked this a couple of times before but would love to see a dual mono processing for the reverb as an option as well. IIRC I was told it takes too much processing power for the pedal. I personally would even take it as a touch mode.
Thanks!

The more I think about the Disintegration Loop, the more I think it deserves it’s own pedal. Nobody else has made a pedal focused on that.

while continuous is more natural and pleasing in the process, the stepped gets the job done in the end, but how about getting the both of two worlds? continuous time warp with a smoothed “snap” to a closest keyed pitch in the end of tweaking.

The four track looper already does smooth chromatic stepping of the pitch and it can do this because the speed is limited to a +/-1 octave range.
The reason we don’t do it with Disintegration Loop is because the tape speed can be slowed to a halt. Because the speed control goes through zero and flips direction, the semitone steps would have to get smaller and smaller forever as you approach stop. In other words, you’d need infinite steps to cross zero. So we keep the knob continuous for scrubbing and reversal instead of quantizing it.
