Feature Request: 4-Track Looper panning option

It woud be really helpful to be able to pan each of the 4 tracks to a different position in the stereo field. This would help prevent the mix becoming to crowded too quickly.

We didn’t have time to implement this for 2.0 but it’s been requested in the past. I don’t think we would change the looper UI but we’ve considered adding pan per loop as an option via MIDI CC. It’s on the Ribbons Development Blog as something to investigate for the next update. :slightly_smiling_face:

That makes sense re-not changing the interface. And great to know it’s likely imminent via midi. Thank you for the speedy response!

I’m new to the forum—just got my Ribbons in the latest batch. I was thinking about the panning option, and I wonder if it’d be possible to do this with an LFO that moves the tracks around and maybe one of the knobs could be used to control that rate-----just a random idea that popped in my head.

It really is an incredible pedal.

was messing with the 4trk looper into lfo stuff and trem & rotary sims and came here to suggest exactly this +1

no idea how stretched the ribbons processor is at this point but control over the stereo field of the tracks would be great even if just via midi but a touch mode around panning via lfo’s would be even cooler.

seems a logical addition to the arsenal. enough to be a touch mode on it’s own. i imagine neu! style subtle stereo phasing to acid drip hawkwind lfo territory would be possible, and applying across the looper would be a no-brainer.

the “stereo lab-panneur” touch mode! trademark pending.

Would also be nice if the loops could bypass the mix knob so that the could be set to the same amplitude as when they went in. As it stands, if I have mix at 50/50 and the pedal’s output is quieter, the loops are limited to that level, which is quieter than the dry audio… I have to go fully wet for the loops to equal dry levels… unless I am doing something wrong.
