Didn’t have much expectations for Ribbons …

… bought on a whim AND AM TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY!

Ribbons has been on my radar since launching and at the time I was not ready to hand over $399 for an unknown brand. There are so many cool indie builders out there that come up with really interesting pedals but then after a while many just end up releasing updated versions or other new things and there is a feeling early adopters become more like beta testers.

But with Ribbons it seems there has been so many free refinements and updates that it appeared like a real labor of love. So when stock was readily available I thought why not? AND I AM SO GLAD I DID!

Really top quality hardware and both the aesthetics/interface design are incredibly well thought out. All the modes and functions sound like a migraine in the making but it is the most intuitive way to deal with so many functions that I have experienced.

I like that apart from the intended Lo-Fi sounds and complex looping that it also works so well for normal stuff like simple tone sweetening. IMHO it can get very lush and Hi-Fi.

Bravo to Jaak! I really do believe that this was a pedal 5 years in the making as it is so well thought out. Real mad scientist but musical stuff going on!
