CV/expression mapping question

Hey y’all! Loving my Sparks, but I’m finding the manual a bit obtuse in regards to mapping CV/expression pedal input. I was hoping to find a video that goes over the process, because I feel like that would make the whole thing click for me, but I’ve been unable to find one.

Anybody know of a video that goes over the process? Or, alternatively, can anyone clarify the finer points of the process in words, here?

Specifically, I’m a little confused about the language in the manual where it says “Use the CUTOFF knob to scroll between the primary knob controls. Tap LAYER if you want to scroll between the secondary knob controls,” and, “hover over the control you want to use and tap the PRESET footswitch.”

Re: the “hover” bit, are the knobs on Sparks capacitive sensing? Like, they detect finger presence even when you are not actively turning one of them?

I’ll make a quick video soon and post it here.

Here you go. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I’ll add a question here: is it possible to link the expression range to a soecific part of the target parameter? In the case of Sparks, say I wish to map an exp pedal to sweep a specific region of a modulation target… is this possible or will it always sweep 0-100…?

It will always sweep 0-100.

O SNAAAAP! Thanks so much for the vid, and apologies for being so tardy. Life intervened.

If I have any more questions after viewing, I’ll pop back into the thread, so that other thick headed folks like me might benefit from the learnings.

:EDIT: — That covered everything I could’ve wanted to know, and the followup question about constraining the range of the pedal to a specific range of values on the bound controls (IE, not possible, always 0-100) is super helpful. Back to making a racket!
